What we can do

A clear scope.
A useful result.

For Business Central teams who rely on repeated exports, cannot trace a dashboard total to an ERP record, or need clearer visibility across companies and processes.

See the improvement approach
  1. Process and source discovery

Identify the Business Central environment, company, relevant pages or APIs and reporting owners. Separate posted transactions from open documents before combining them.

  2. Sales, finance and inventory views

Scope dashboards for open orders, receivables, purchasing, stock or other agreed questions. Map document and line identifiers, status, currencies, units and posting dates.

  3. Reliable reporting feeds

Use approved APIs or connectors with appropriate authentication and permissions. Plan pagination, throttling and incremental retrieval around the available endpoints.

  4. Reconciliation and exceptions

Compare counts and amounts to agreed Business Central reference reports. Flag missing mappings, inconsistent units and incomplete source extracts for review.

  5. Integration and ownership

Document field mappings, refresh frequency and change handling. Agree any write-back separately with explicit scope and business approval.

From symptom to acceptance check

Improve the reporting
around your ERP.

We diagnose the cause, agree a change and check the result against your source records.

Illustrative project

One operating question.
A traceable ERP view.

This is a proposed workflow example, not a customer case study or a claimed result.

Question

What is open, overdue or waiting for a purchasing decision?

Build

Connect approved Business Central data to a reporting model with supplier, document and date context.

Check

Compare the selected company and period to the ERP reference view; test status changes and incomplete extracts.

Define done before building

Agree the checks.
Hand over clearly.

  • Company, environment and source endpoints are documented.
  • Key amounts and distinct document counts reconcile.
  • Paging, throttling and failed-extract behaviour are checked.
  • Business users receive mappings, definitions and ownership notes.

Assign the operating owners

At handover, agree who owns the accounts, connections and licences; who monitors refresh or workflow runs; and who handles changes and recovery. Documentation and a walkthrough support that handover. Any ongoing support is separately agreed.

Bring to the first conversation

  • Your Dynamics 365 application and environment.
  • The company and reports in scope.
  • A system owner who can approve suitable access.
  • One reference report and the decision it supports.

We agree scope, timing and price after reviewing the available data and access.

Useful scope questions

Know what
the project needs.

Which Dynamics 365 applications are in scope?

Our stated focus is Business Central reporting and integration. Other Dynamics 365 applications need a separate scope review before we commit to delivery.

Can every required field use a standard API?

Not always. Microsoft says standard Business Central API pages cannot simply be extended with extra fields; a custom API may be required. We first check what the approved endpoints expose.

How is Business Central Online authenticated?

Microsoft recommends OAuth and no longer supports Basic Authentication for Business Central Online. Your administrator approves the required access; the reporting design follows that boundary.

Scope and product limits depend on your environment, version and licences.
