Stop rebuilding
the same report.

Keep the flexibility of Excel while making recurring reporting easier to run and check. We improve the tables, queries, formulas and handover behind the workbook.

What we can do

A clear scope.
A useful result.

For teams copying data between workbooks, repairing broken formulas each month, using inconsistent files or relying on a report only one person understands.

See the improvement approach
  1. Workbook review

Map inputs, calculations and outputs. Identify manual steps, hard-coded ranges, inconsistent formulas and the reports your team actually needs.

  2. Structured tables and Power Query

Organise source data into suitable tables and repeatable queries. Standardise headers, types, dates and joins; combine approved files using an agreed folder process.

  3. Formulas and reporting views

Improve relevant formulas, pivot tables, summaries and charts. Make assumptions and input fields visible so the report can be updated consistently.

  4. Quality and reconciliation checks

Add record counts, duplicate checks, missing-value flags and source-total comparisons. Keep exceptions visible rather than silently dropping them.

  5. Automation and handover

Where appropriate, scope Office Scripts or Power Automate steps with an agreed run sequence. Provide instructions for refresh, corrections and ownership.

From symptom to acceptance check

What can improve
in your workbook.

We diagnose the cause, agree a change and check the result against your source records.

Illustrative project

One question.
A repeatable workbook.

This is a proposed workflow example, not a customer case study or a claimed result.

Question

Can the monthly operating pack use one repeatable refresh?

Build

Combine approved input files with Power Query, standardise the fields and populate a controlled summary workbook.

Check

Compare file counts, row counts and totals before handing the report to its reviewer.

Define done before building

Agree the checks.
Hand over clearly.

  • Inputs, formulas and output areas have clear roles.
  • Refresh includes the expected files and rows.
  • Missing fields, duplicates and failed steps are visible.
  • A colleague can repeat the documented update process.

Assign the operating owners

At handover, agree who owns the accounts, connections and licences; who monitors refresh or workflow runs; and who handles changes and recovery. Documentation and a walkthrough support that handover. Any ongoing support is separately agreed.

Bring to the first conversation

  • A sanitised copy of the workbook and its source files.
  • The current update steps and recurring problems.
  • The reference total or report that must match.
  • Your Excel version, file location and Microsoft 365 licence.

We agree scope, timing and price after reviewing the available data and access.

Useful scope questions

Know what
the project needs.

Should the report stay in Excel or move to Power BI?

It depends on the audience, size, sharing and update needs. A controlled Excel report can be the right first improvement; a shared reporting model may suit a broader Power BI rollout.

Can Power Automate safely update any workbook?

The Excel Online Business connector has limits: 256 rows returned by default unless pagination is enabled, a 25 MB file limit, and no support for simultaneous workbook modifications. We design the run sequence around those constraints.

What should we check before using Office Scripts?

Office Scripts with Power Automate requires an eligible Microsoft 365 business licence. Microsoft also documents a 120-second synchronous timeout, so large jobs may need a different design.

Scope and product limits depend on your environment, version and licences.
